House Challenge

We had the school house challenge last term and the performances were all very exciting to watch! Our school has had many challenges but this one was BIG. You needed to put hard work into the song that you were singing with your house. We had three weeks to practice and to choose our song and actions.
Fordell school's houses are: Tawa, Kowhai and Miro. Each house did a great song and performed very well. It was the house, Tawa who won this house challenge!          Congratulations Tawa!

ASB Man's trip to Fordell

Last week, an A.S.B man from Wellington came to Fordell to teach and tell us about banking and the best way to save money. He made us all laugh with funny statements! His name was Vanny and he was in a band call Strawberry Jam and Vanny played the air guitar in his band. Vanny also told us about the jobs that we can do now at this age. Together we worked on a "get what you want plan,"  to save up our expenses so we could get more money to bye a real guitar and then Vanny would be able to stay in his band. This ASB man made the day fun and exciting! I hope he saves enough money to get his guitar.

The Sound Of Autumn

Along the cold, slimy grass I hear the swooshing of my bare feet sliding.
"Chirp tweet, " the birds are cheerful under the wind blown tree.
Running across the playground the fallen leaves crinkling and crumbling like pieces of paper.
On the uneven, grey path I can hear the " boom snap eek" of the preschool children playing.
I feel the pointy conkers crunching  as I skip through the playground.
I see the squishy dew resting on top of the soggy green grass.
I like seeing, hearing and feeling Autumn.
